Retailer (On line division)
A leading supermarket retailer has worked with us for a number of years to find graduates for their leading on line division. Graduates need to be passionate about the brand but also entrepreneurial as the on line division acts as a stand-alone unit within the overall company. To make it even trickier, the candidates need to have a demonstrated interest in technology (but not an IS degree) and pass a rigorous battery of tests.
Our Approach We look for candidates who have a track record of entrepreneurship, either through membership of a college society, participation in events such as Young Enterprise or through running their own businesses at school or university. A willingness to 'get their hands dirty' is also key as the culture is very inclusive - open plan offices for all, idea sharing across the company and an expectation that teams will pull together to make things happen.
Results Having worked with this client for five years we have built up a strong understanding of their brand and quality requirements. At times candidates who have met all the criteria will not get through the initial testing phase - as a result we will find more candidates than we think we need so that the client always makes their target number of hires.
