Transport Organisation

A transport operating company entering the market for the first time asked us to manage their graduate process end to end, including screening of direct applications, testing and assessment centres. Whilst the company has a strong consumer profile, it had not established its reputation in the graduate marketplace. Raising awareness of the company in the graduate marketplace was considered key. In addition, whilst candidates needed to have leadership potential, getting their 'hands dirty' was a key job requirement.

Our Approach
We spent time getting to know the organisation to build both a comprehensive job description and competency profile for the company. As well as headhunting candidates, we were also able to manage the direct applications that this company received ensuring that all applicants to the process were treated equally. We designed and managed an assessment centre process looking at the key competencies for shortlisted candidates. All exercises were tailored to the profiles of the organisation which ensured that candidates saw the relevance of the exercises to the job on offer.

Results
We were able to find candidates who had a general interest in the clients industry which really helped their potential fit with the company. By ensuring a consistent measuring process from CV screening, through to interviewing and finally to the application stage we were able to feel confident that the candidates offered would be right for both the role and the company. The organisation now has a standard process to use for graduate recruitment in the future.
